Kaw Mountain Band embodies the best traditions of Bluegrass and Americana music, performed with energy and passion. Located in the Kansas City area with members on both sides of the State Line, the band draws on diverse influences from the original Appalachian mountain music, to the delta bluesmen, to country and western singers from the plains of Kansas to the Pacific Ocean. Combine that with our unique Midwest grass roots, and you’ve got a sound that covers a lot of ground.
Recently formed, the band is currently working in the studio on an introductory CD and looking forward to expanding its repertoire and getting on stage at area venues. Their set list reflects a rich American cultural heritage of bluegrass, blues, country, western, rock, and jug band.
This Kansas City Area group is composed of Roland Manbeck (harmonica, guitar, washboard); Robert Tims (guitar, mandolin, banjo); and Bill "Spider" Powell (upright bass, guitar, banjo, harmonica and much, much more).
